Three Principles

Mind | Consciousness | Thought

"Mind, consciousness and thought are spiritual gifts that enable us to see creation and guide us through life. All three are universal constants that can never change and never be separated."

- Sydney Banks, The Missing Link: Reflections on Philosophy and Spirit

What is the Three Principles?

The 3 Principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought were first articulated by Sydney Banks, a 9th-grade educated welder born in Scotland, living in British Columbia, Canada, in the early 1970s.

These three innate, formless principles are responsible for creating all human experience.

The Principle of Mind is the formless energy responsible for creating all life – sometimes called the “God Principle” it is the source of everything in the universe.

The Principle of Consciousness makes it possible for us to be aware of life and all of our sensory experiences.

The Principle of Thought provides for unlimited creative potential and allows for creating all mental energy – everything we can think, perceive and feel.
